Raj Singhal Awarded Honorary Professorship by University of Ukraine

Singhal, P.Eng. Ph.D. of Calgary was recently awarded an honorary professorship
by the National Mining University of Ukraine on the occasion of the university's
100th anniversary.
Currently, Dr. Singhal works as a science advisor for the Federal Government's Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program. He is the chair of the International Organizing Committees of both the International Symposium on Mine Planning and Equipment Selection and the International Conference on Environmental Issues and Management of Waste in Energy and Mineral Production. He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Surface Mining, Reclamation, and Environment and is also an adjunct professor at Laval University.
Dr. Singhal's greatest achievements have been in the area of technology transfer
where nationally and internationally he has brought together industry, university,
government and private researchers. He serves this year as the general chair
of the 101st Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Institute of
Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum - becoming the first person of East Indian
extraction to be honored this way.
